Luis E. Santana is an Assistant Professor at the School of Communications & Journalism and director of the Fostering Digital Citizenship program at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile. He is also a research associate at GobLab within the same institution. He holds a Ph.D in Communications and a Master of Public Administration, both from the University of Washington-Seattle. He has a degree in Psychology and a Diploma in Organizational Psychology from Universidad de Santiago de Chile. His research has applied mixed and digital methods for inquiring about digital collective action, crowdsourcing for policymaking, and bots. He is currently focused on the sociability aspects and norms of digital citizenship. Since 2021, Dr. Santana has been a member of the advisory council for the Office of the Ombudsperson for Children in Chile.
